This lamp was initially designed in India with a view of allowing students to work late into the evening when the sunlight fades, but as with many products of this kind the intention is there for good, but the technology works out for too expensive for the people that it is intended for.

The lamp has a solar panel that charges the lamps NimH battery up during the day; it will then last for up to six hours, enough time to get that homework done. The lamp utilises 24 LED bulbs, which is enough to provide a descent amount of light.
